Paint and coatings manufacturer Sherwin-Williams has agreed a multi-year sponsorship deal with the IndyCar North American motor-racing series.
Under the wide-ranging terms, Sherwin-Williams becomes the official paint and finishing partner of IndyCar, the IndyCar Series, Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Indianapolis 500 Mile Race, the Grand Prix of Indianapolis and the Nascar Sprint Cup Series Crown Royal 400 race at Indianapolis.
Sherwin-Williams will have branding integrated into Indianapolis Motor Speedway during its showpiece 500 Mile Race and Grand Prix of Indianapolis events, while its products will be used in the Project 100 collaboration between the Indiana state government and the Indiana Motorsports Commission for improvement and redevelopments at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Full-time teams in the IndyCar Series will have the opportunity to use Sherwin-Williams products, while the company will offer customer experiences to enhance its business-to-business programmes.
Mark Miles, chief executive of Hulman & Company, the parent of IndyCar and Indianapolis Motor Speedway, said: “Sherwin-Williams’ support of both brands, in addition to many of our events at IMS, is obviously valuable – but we’re also very excited for the opportunity to integrate their paint and finishing products into the facility itself, including many projects we have planned for Project 100.”
