Social gaming company Playtika has agreed a deal to become the main shirt sponsor of Spanish LaLiga football club Sevilla.
The initial one-year deal will cover the 2017-18 season, although there is an option to extend. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Sevilla said the agreement would be worth “several million dollars”.
Playtika’s branding will feature on the front of Sevilla’s shirts as part of the agreement, which began with the club’s season-opening 1-1 draw against Espanyol on Saturday.
Playtika will also be promoted across the club’s media and digital channels, and create video content featuring Sevilla players. Further brand exposure will be provided around the stadium, on the team bus and on the players’ entrance to the pitch.
Playtika’s chief financial officer, Arik Sandler, said: “The sponsorship agreement with Sevilla, which shares similar values with Playtika, will allow us to reach new and diverse audiences. This unique cooperation will strengthen the company's brands, which are already enjoyed by tens of millions of players around the world.”
Last year, Playtika was acquired by Chinese game developer Giant Interactive for $4.4bn (€3.7bn).
