Software company SAP has enhanced its partnership with the German Football Association (DFB) by agreeing to sponsor the organisation’s academy.
The agreement between the DFB Academy and SAP will initially run for three years.
The partnership will focus on match and training analysis for Germany's youth football teams.
Oliver Bierhoff, project manager at the DFB Academy, said: “One of the core ideas of the academy is that we want to further develop German football and apply the latest technologies.
“Data and its related analysis are becoming more and more important in football and we want to use that for our work. We are very pleased to be working with such a strong partner as SAP, which stands for competence, innovation, modern infrastructure and technology properties that we want to benefit from.”
SAP is an existing sponsor of the DFB and earlier this year signed a three-year extension to its partnership with the organisation. SAP serves as an official premium partner of the DFB and the German national team.
