Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A football club São Paulo has agreed a shirt sponsorship deal with financial services company Banco Intermedium.
The two parties have agreed a three-year deal, which will cover the 2017 to 2019 seasons. Banco Intermedium’s branding will feature on the back and shoulders of São Paulo’s jerseys as part of the agreement.
The company has already received exposure on the shirts of São Paulo’s youth teams and will debut on the first team kit in March.
The company will also benefit from hospitality packages at São Paulo’s Morumbi stadium, and receive brand exposure through social networks and at the club’s training centre.
Banco Intermedium joins Prevent Senior, Corr Plastik, TIM, Urbano, Joli and Poty as São Paulo shirt sponsors.
São Paulo’s marketing director, Vinicius Pinotti, said: “After a year of rebuilding, it is important that we continue to expand our club roster. It is remarkable that in one of the most difficult times of the national economy we will have more and more sponsorships where there was nothing before. 2017 will be a great year for the club on and off the pitch, and the arrival of Banco Intermedium, with a long-term contract, is an important step for this.”
The Maquina do Esporte website noted that the space on the back of São Paulo’s shirt is currently occupied by healthcare provider Prevent Senior, the club’s main kit sponsor, whose branding also features on the main chest area of the jersey.
São Paulo did not state whether Banco Intermedium’s partnership would affect Prevent Senior’s existing deal, although Maquina do Esporte claimed there is a possibility the previously-agreed sponsorship fee will be reduced.
