LaLiga, which operates the top two divisions of Spanish football, has extended its partnership with consumer electronics company Samsung.
The new deal will run for three years, with LaLiga to feature in Samsung’s global content and services through the company’s range of products.
Customised LaLiga-themed designs will also be launched to tie in with Samsung’s latest range of wearables and Samsung Galaxy smartphones.
As part of the deal, Samsung and LaLiga will stage a competition for local developers who will be tasked with improving the LaLiga fan experience. Members of the Samsung Dev Spain community will be eligible to take part in the competition and technology from the Samsung product portfolio to work hand in hand with LaLiga.
Celestino Garcia, corporate vice-president at Samsung Spain, said: “This new agreement represents a great opportunity for Samsung, given that we seek to promote innovation within sport by improving the user experience.”
