Chinese Super League football club Jiangsu Suning has agreed a three-season deal with Samsung that will make the Korean consumer electronics company its new main sponsor.
The partnership will run across the 2019 to 2021 CSL seasons, with Samsung receiving front and back of shirt branding for its Chinese and English logos.
The 21st Century Business Herald newspaper reported that the deal will be worth over CNY300m (€38m/$43.4m) and will encompass a wider business partnership between Samsung and the club’s owner, retail group Suning.
Samsung is reportedly keen to improve its presence in the Chinese mobile phone market, following a drop off in recent years.
The company has previous ties to the CSL, having sponsored the league from 2013 to 2015.
