Stade Rennais has secured a five-year extension to its contract with main sponsor Samsic, continuing one of the longest-running associations in Ligue 1, the top division of French football.
The logo of the business services group has been emblazoned on Stade Rennais’ shirts since 2004 and this is now set to continue until 2024.
Christian Roulleau, president and director general of Samsic, said: “It is still worth remembering that our group is the oldest partner and therefore the most faithful of Ligue 1. By sponsoring Stade Rennais FC, we participate in regional economic, cultural and sports development. It’s important for us, even essential. Last season, the Rouge et Noir made us live great emotions. Qualifying for the (Uefa) Europa League reinforces our media coverage. All this is good for our image.”
Olivier Létang, president of Stade Rennais, added: “As a professional sports club, it is essential to be able to count on strong economic partners, and ones that are invested over time. By extending and strengthening our partnership with Samsic, this is exactly what we are achieving. Doing it with a local partner in a region with a strong identity like Brittany is all the more rewarding.”
