Rwanda Premier League secures new title sponsor

Tanzanian pay-television operator AzamTV has agreed a deal to become the new title sponsor of the Rwanda Premier League top-tier club football competition.

The agreement will run for five years, from the 2015-16 season through to the end of the 2019-20 campaign.

Under the deal, agreed with the Rwanda Football Federation, the competition will be known as the Azam Rwanda Premier League.

The deal is worth just under $2.4m (€2.1m) over five years. AzamTV already has media rights for the league in Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda and Burundi.

Vincent Nzamwita, president of the Rwanda Football Federation, said: “Rwanda football has potential to excel all around and together with AzamTV, we want to ensure that this mission is achieved.”
