North American NHL ice hockey franchise the Pittsburgh Penguins has announced a partnership with mobile engagement platform Rover.
Although the length of the deal was not disclosed, the agreement will begin with the 2015-16 season.
As part of the deal, Rover will provide its services to the Penguins’ mobile application.
Content on the new-look app will include greetings to fans on entry to the stadium, as well as interactive experiences and discounts.
Erik Watts, senior director of technology at the Penguins, said: “Rover makes it easy for us to deliver relevant content to fans, and provides us with a platform to which we can have input and develop an experience that is exciting and engaging for our fans and corporate partners.”
The 2015-16 NHL season begins on October 7, with the Penguins starting their campaign at the Dallas Stars a day later.
