Spanish state-owned train and freight operator Renfe has struck a deal to sponsor the 2017 edition of La Vuelta a España.
The deal will focus on the opening stage of the cycling race in the French city of Nîmes, which will host a time trial on August 19 before the race moves along the southern coast of France and into Spain.
It will be the first time that the Vuelta has started in France.
Under the agreement, Renfe, through a collaboration with French train operator SNCF, will transport some 200 members of the Vuelta team from Spain to Nîmes.
Renfe agreed the deal with Unipublic, which operates the Vuelta.
