Portuguese media company NOS has sealed a deal to become the title sponsor of the Primeira Liga, while Korean electronics company Samsung has also agreed a commercial partnership with the country’s top football division.
Under a three-and-a-half year deal with the Portuguese Football League (LPFP) that runs from the ongoing 2014-15 season until the end of the 2017-18 campaign, the competition will be known as Liga NOS.
Samsung’s agreement with the LPFP is for two and a half years and concludes at the end of the 2016-17 season.
As an official sponsor, Samsung sits alongside sportswear giant Adidas and beer manufacturer Sagres on the second tier of the league’s commercial roster.
Sagres was the competition’s joint title sponsor alongside ZON Multimedia until the end of last season, since when the designation had remained vacant.
