All-electronic consumer banking service Simple has reached a multi-year agreement to serve as the official online banking partner of Major League Soccer franchise the Portland Timbers.
Under the deal, Simple gains exclusive branding rights on all Timbers training apparel – the first partnership of its kind in the MLS.
The Timbers' pre-season tournament will be renamed the Simple Invitational and the bank will be the presenting partner of the franchise’s 2015 season.
Additionally, Simple will benefit from branding exposure at the franchise’s Providence Park and training centre facilities as well as on digital channels, while the two parties will collaborate on community outreach activities such as the youth financial literacy programme Stand Together Week.
Financial terms for the partnership were not disclosed.
