German automotive company Porsche has entered into a multi-year partnership with Major League Baseball team the New York Mets.
Under the agreement, Porsche will sponsor the Empire Level and Acela Club suites at Citi Field, the Mets’ home ballpark. Both suites will host an activation area with Porsche cars and related retail products.
Mets fans will also be given the chance to take part in Porsche test-driving experiences. In addition, local car dealers will be granted access to team and player activities that are not open to the public.
New York Mets vice-president of corporate partnerships, Wes Engram, said: “Like the Mets, Porsche has a very loyal fan base and is the perfect brand to bring to Citi Field to accentuate our world-class facility.”
The deal comes after Porsche in June agreed its first major US sports deal by partnering with one of New York’s NFL American football teams, the Jets.
