Online trading company Plus500 has been unveiled as the new naming-rights partner of Australian Super Rugby franchise the Brumbies.
The season-long deal will cover the 2017 Super Rugby campaign and officially names the team as the Plus500 Brumbies.
Plus500’s branding will also appear on the front of the Brumbies’ home and away jerseys for both national and overseas matches. A range of other sponsorship benefits will be included in the deal.
Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed, but the Brumbies said that its jersey will become the most valuable in Australian Super Rugby.
Plus500 replaces integrated resorts company Aquis as the Brumbies’ naming-rights sponsor.
However, Aquis will continue to serve as the team’s principal partner, with its branding to feature on the shorts and collar of the playing strip. Aquis will also increase its support of the Brumbies’ community programmes.
“We enjoy a very positive long-term relationship with Aquis Entertainment and they have recognised the potential of this opportunity to provide an unprecedented financial boost to the club,” Simon Chester, the Brumbies’ general manager of commercial affairs, said.
The agreement was brokered for Plus500 by the WH Sports Group agency.
