Glass technology company Corning Gorilla Glass has signed up as a founding partner of the Premier Lacrosse League.
Under the deal, Corning will also become the presenting sponsor of the US league’s end-of-season awards.
Corning Gorilla Glass will provide the league with a range of wearables, tablets and smartphones, all featuring Gorilla Glass.
The move is intended to enhance the digital lives of players, coaches and league staff, further advancing the tech-forward focus the PLL has adopted, while showcasing the durability and capabilities of Corning Gorilla Glass.
Scott Forester, division vice-president of marketing and innovation products at Corning Gorilla Glass, said: “I can’t imagine a better platform than PLL to spotlight the suite of Gorilla Glass products currently deployed in today’s mobile consumer device market.
“In support of their athletic lifestyles, these players rely heavily on their wearables, counting on durable displays that stay readable in any light. And like the rest of us, they need phones that better resist damage from drops, and tablets that resist scratches and damage. Gorilla Glass engineered the glass on these devices, so we couldn’t be happier putting our support and technology behind PLL.”
