PKN Orlen extends Polish Volleyball deal 

Polish oil refiner and petrol retailer PKN Orlen has extended its sponsorship agreement with the Polish Volleyball Federation, in a four-year deal from 2019 to 2022.

Orlen has been the main sponsor of the Polish Volleyball Federation since 2012. According to wirtualnemedia.pl, unofficial reports value the first contract at about PLN 10m ($2.6m/€2.3m) per year.

Under the old deal, the Orlen logo branded the men’s and women’s volleyball shirts in indoor and beach volleyball in all age categories.

Under the new deal, Orlen will not only support the men’s and women’s teams, but will partner with the School Volleyball Centers programme, which supports students who play volleyball at a higher level.

Daniel Obajtek, president of PKN Orlen said that volleyball is the brand’s third largest marketing platform in Poland after motorsports and athletics

In November last year, PKN Orlen became the Official Partner of the Formula One team Williams Racing, in which Polish driver Robert Kubica will race in 2019.

According to wirtualnemedia.pl, the deal is worth is about PLN 40m per year.

Orlen is also a longstanding sponsor of the Polish Olympic. In April 2017, Orlen extended its Olympic partnership for four years to include the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
