Pitch International has claimed it has sold over £100m (€108.6m/$129.4m) worth of sponsorships over the past 18 months, with the agency now focusing on marketing opportunities across a host of premium sports properties.
The recently announced sleeve sponsorship deal between Finnish mobile gaming company Rovio Entertainment and English Premier League football club Everton is the latest in a string of deals introduced by Pitch International Commercial.
Everton last month signed a multi-year agreement with Rovio that has resulted in the Angry Birds logo appearing on the left sleeve of the club’s shirts. The Angry Birds agreement with Everton is the 10th consecutive deal concluded for the 2017-18 season.
This has included Everton’s main shirt sponsorship with SportPesa, along with similar deals for fellow Premier League clubs Southampton (Virgin Media), Swansea City (LeTou) and Watford (FxPro). Pitch has also negotiated the EFL Cup’s title sponsorship with Carabao and the Star Sixes tournament’s deal with Betsafe.
Other deals have included the Welsh Rugby Union’s new main sponsorship with Isuzu and shirt sponsorship and kit sponsorship deals for the West Indies cricket team with Digicel and BLK, respectively.
The agency led by Jon Varney and Jonathan Price is now focused on selling premium sponsorship properties for the English Football Association, Premiership Rugby, Formula One motor racing team Mercedes, the Brazilian Football Confederation’s Brazil Global Tour and Pitch’s branded content asset, Playmaker.
Varney, partner at Pitch International Commercial, said: “Over the past 18 months we have sold in excess of £100m worth of sponsorships and have become the UK’s leading sponsorship sales agency. We are entering an exciting new sales cycle with some exceptional properties to sell, working closely with our clients we are confident we can deliver excellent returns.”
