Arizona-based healthcare provider network IASIS Healthcare has entered into a partnership with NBA basketball franchise the Phoenix Suns.
Under the deal, the terms of which were not disclosed, IASIS will become the official healthcare partner of the team. The agreement will also cover Phoenix Mercury, the WNBA sister franchise of the Suns.
IASIS will also become the presenting sponsor of the team’s ‘Golden Grannies’ dance team and will receive exposure during all Suns and Mercury games, including in-arena signage and local television and radio broadcasts.
The partnership will also include the revitalisation of the former Phoenix Suns Athletic Club, which is located within the proximity of the team’s US Airways Center home arena. The facility will be transformed into an IASIS Multi-Speciality Clinic and will offer healthcare to Suns employees and local residents.
IASIS and the Suns will also work together on a number of health awareness programmes and community outreach initiatives, aimed at encouraging youth involvement in basketball and other recreational activities.
In addition, the Suns will introduce ‘Training Day with Mike Elliott’, an eight-part Suns television broadcast series in which the team’s strength and conditioning coach, Mike Elliott, will provide training and fitness tips to fans viewing Suns games on television at home.
