Energy company Constellation has entered into a multi-year partnership with the PGA of America golf organisation.
The deal names Constellation as an official energy provider and sustainability partner of the PGA of America, as well as the PGA Championship, Senior PGA Championship and Women’s PGA Championship events. Constellation will take on a similar role with the Ryder Cup when the tournament takes place in the US.
Under the agreement, Constellation will help the PGA of America minimise its carbon footprint through the use of energy management programmes and sustainability strategies.
The two parties will also collaborate on initiatives to raise awareness of energy conservation among PGA professionals and fans.
The partnership will begin with the 2016 Ryder Cup, which takes place at the Hazeltine National Golf Club in Minnesota from September 30 to October 2.
