Payment services provider paysafecard has stepped up its backing of ESL by becoming a global partner of the esports organisation.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but paysafecard will become a strategic brand partner and global payment partner for all ESL events in the Intel Extreme Masters, ESL One and CS:GO Pro League circuits, as well as several National Championships and ESL Arenas.
Throughout the duration of the deal, paysafecard will be integrated as a payment method to the ESL Shop, ESEA, and ESL Play, with full category exclusivity. Paysafecard users will be provided with special offers and discounts for each individual event, as well as for online sales on those platforms worldwide.
Paysafecard first engaged with esports four years ago. Last year’s strategic engagements included ESL One Cologne and two seasons of ESL Pro League. Under the new deal, paysafecard will support three community projects dedicated to esports fans around the world.
The new paysafecard Hall of Fame will honour well-known, accomplished personalities for their achievements during their esports career, as well as individuals with significant contributions to the growth of the industry.
Paysafecard Beat the Legends will give fans an opportunity to try their skills against pro gamers and influencers. Finally, the paysafecard Ultimate Experience will offer travel packages to attend ESL events.
“Paysafecard is one of the partners that really grew with us and the esports industry throughout the years, and we’re very proud to welcome them on board on a global level,” Ralf Reichert, chief executive at ESL, said. “It’s one of the brands that puts the community first with quality activations that engage fans on all levels, and we’re excited to see what they have in store.”
