US fantasy sports brand DraftKings has entered into a partnership with NFL American football team the New England Patriots.
Under the deal, DraftKings will benefit from exposure via a number of Patriots properties, including in-stadium LED signage with updates from its fantasy games, a presence on the team’s social media outlets and placement on the e-newsletter, with a “Fantasy Tip of the Week” posted to www.patriots.com.
Boston-based DraftKings’ has announced its sponsorship of a professional American football team as an industry first.
The partnership comes as DraftKings promotes the latest run of its Fantasy Football Millionaire series, where four fantasy football contestants will win $1m (€794,000) each over the four months of the NFL season.
The Patriots went 5-2 for the season with Thursday’s 27-25 win over the New York Jets. Murray Kohl, vice-president of corporate sales for the New England Patriots, said: “Many of our fans in the stadium are playing daily fantasy sports and we want to provide them with the most up to date information.”
