The organising committee behind Paris’s bid to host the 2024 Olympic Games has entered into partnerships with financial services company BNP Paribas and postal service firm La Poste.
As official partners, both BNP Paribas and La Poste will contribute around €2m ($2.2m) to the bid’s budget.
The deals take the total number of partnerships agreed by Paris 2024 up to seven. BNP Paribas joins Caisse des Depots, Elior Group, JCDecaux, RATP and Francaise des Jeux, which operates the French national lottery, as official sponsors of the bid.
Paris faces competition from the Italian capital of Rome, Los Angeles in the US and Budapest, Hungary in its bid to stage the Games. The International Olympic Committee will reach its decision on the host city in September 2017, with candidates needing to submit their final bid documentation by today (Wednesday).
