UK energy supplier OVO Energy has extended its title sponsorship of the Tour of Britain and Women’s Tour, while it has extended its backing of British cycling to cover the Tour Series.
The two-year agreement covers the 2018 and 2019 editions of the Tour of Britain, Women’s Tour and the Tour Series, which will now officially be known as the OVO Energy Tour Series.
OVO Energy first became title sponsor of the Tour of Britain and Women’s Tour last year.
The men’s Tour of Britain forms part of the UCI Europe Tour, while the Women’s Tour is part of the UCI Women’s WorldTour. The Tour Series is a team-based event for men and women and is held in 10 town and city centre locations across the UK.
Heath Harvey, chief executive event organiser SweetSpot, said: “The extension of these exciting partnerships coincide with the 15th modern Tour of Britain, the 10th Tour Series and the fifth edition of the Women’s Tour. Together with OVO Energy, we look forward to making 2018 the best editions of our races to date and together, continuing our rewarding partnership.”
OVO Energy will also sponsor the Tour Ride supporting Breast Cancer Care, an amateur event that features a route inspired by the Women’s Tour.
