Orlando City Soccer Club has announced a multi-year extension of its partnership with main sponsor Orlando Health ahead of the expected confirmation later today of its arrival as Major League Soccer’s latest expansion franchise in North America.
Healthcare provider Orlando Health has served as the club’s main partner for the past three years and will continue to act as its shirt sponsor under the extension.
Orlando City said that Orlando Health would become the first jersey partner in MLS history to commit to an expansion club before admittance into Major League Soccer.
The company will also receive branding rights within Orlando City’s proposed new downtown stadium and will be the exclusive provider of medical care to the team’s players.
“Orlando Health has always shared our vision of bringing Major League Soccer to Orlando since day one,” Orlando City president Phil Rawlins said. “Not only are we securing a world-class healthcare partner, but we are solidifying a true partnership between two organisations committed to making Central Florida a better place.”
Orlando City currently competes in the USL Pro league, the third tier of the US soccer pyramid.
