Cryptocurrency broker and lender Voyager Digital, a partner of the National Women's Soccer League and the National Basketball Association's Dallas Mavericks, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
Voyager Digital suspended all withdrawals, deposits, and trading last week but the New Jersey-based company has now commenced bankruptcy proceedings due to the "prolonged volatility and contagion in the crypto markets over the past few months" as well as the failure of Singapore-based crypto hedge fund Three Arrows Capital to repay a loan worth $650m (€637m).
