Telecommunications company Altibox has been unveiled as the new main sponsor of the Eliteserien, the top tier of club football in Norway.
The agreement will initially cover the 2017 and 2018 seasons and includes the option for a further year. The league confirmed that the deal would be worth a “significant double-digit” millions figure.
Altibox’s branding will feature on the right arm of teams’ kits as part of the agreement, while the company will also benefit from in-stadium exposure.
“This is an incredibly important contribution,” Leif Øverland, director of Norsk Toppfotball, said. “We are proud that such a forward-leaning and exciting player such as Altibox want to be involved in developing Norwegian football.”
The 2017 Eliteserien season begins this weekend with the top division having rebranded from the Tippeligaen this year.
