English Premiership rugby union team Northampton Saints has extended its long-standing partnership with builders’ merchants and home improvement retail group Travis Perkins.
The company will remain the Saints’ principal sponsor until at least 2021 after agreeing a four-year extension to its existing deal. Under the agreement, Travis Perkins’ logo will continue to appear on the front of the team’s playing jerseys.
The company was named principal sponsor of the Saints in 2001. The club claims its partnership with Travis Perkins is the longest continuous main sponsorship deal in British top-flight professional sport.
“I’m confident that no club in any sport has as good a partnership as we have with Travis Perkins,” Northampton chief executive Allan Robson said. “We’ve been on a long journey together as a club and company, but more importantly we have established a fantastic relationship on a personal level, too.
“Many Travis Perkins employees are season ticket holders and we know that the company’s management takes a great deal of pride in seeing their name on the front of our shirts in the Aviva Premiership and when we play overseas in the European Rugby Champions Cup.”
