Italian Serie A football club AS Roma has entered into a partnership with Japanese automotive manufacturer Nissan.
The partnership will focus on promoting the use of electric vehicles in Italy. The length of the deal was not disclosed but it will at least cover the remainder of the 2016-17 Serie A season.
As part of the agreement, Nissan will launch a series of activities involving Roma and its players to help promote the use of eco-friendly vehicles.
“We’re pleased to work with Roma because this partnership ties in with our involvement in the world of sport and zero-emissions sustainability,” Nissan Italy chief executive Bruno Mattucci said. “We are a market leader in electric mobility and have been at the forefront of the fight against climate change for years.
“We want to create a world with a reduced environmental footprint and we can achieve this with a big player like AS Roma, by publicising the benefits of zero-emissions mobility for both society and the economy.”
