The University of Connecticut (UConn) and its athletics division have extended an exclusive sponsorship agreement with US sportswear giant Nike.
The new long-term deal will run until the end of the 2022-23 academic year. The university confirmed that the total value of the contract in combined product and cash is $32.45m (€27.75m).
Nike will continue to provide UConn with uniforms, apparel, footwear, practice gear and equipment as part of the agreement, along with cash payments.
UConn said the retail value of its annual product allotment has increased under the new deal.
Nike has been UConn’s exclusive provider of sports apparel and equipment since 2008. When the partnership was signed it marked the first all-sports deal in US college history.
“UConn is very proud of the relationship we have had with Nike over the years and now we can look forward to that continuing in the future,” UConn director of athletics David Benedict said. “The Nike agreement allows our student-athletes to practice and compete with premier sportswear and equipment and also provides our university with important financial resources.”
