The Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) has renewed its long-running partnership with US sportswear giant Nike.
Since 1997, Nike has provided kits for Portugal’s national football teams and the new deal runs until late 2018 with the option of a further extension.
FPF president Fernando Gomes stressed the importance of the deal with Nike because, with the exception of the men’s senior national team, Portugal’s other sides do not generate significant financial returns. The financial terms of the FPF’s new deal with Nike were undisclosed.
Iberian director of sports marketing at Nike, Alberto Baronet, declared himself "very satisfied" with the new contract and expressed a wish for the collaboration to continue beyond 2018.
Portugal takes part in its fourth consecutive Fifa World Cup in Brazil this year.
