US sportswear giant Nike has reached an agreement with the Nigeria Football Federation to supply kit and apparel to its national teams.
The deal is effective from April 1 this year and runs for three years until 2018 with the option for further extension.
In December, Adidas opted not to renew its kit deal with the NFF and subsequent discussion over fresh terms proved to be unsuccessful. Nigeria wore Adidas from 2004, having partnered with Nike for the previous decade.
Nike is designing performance, training apparel and equipment for Nigeria’s men’s, women’s, Olympic and age-group teams, along with the men’s beach football team.
The initial Nike kits will be worn by Nigeria until its 2016-17 strip launches in mid-2016. The financial terms of the partnership were not disclosed.
