The NFL American football league has entered into a three-year partnership with US automotive manufacturer Ford.
The deal covers the 2016 to 2018 seasons and names Ford’s F-series model as the official truck of the NFL.
As part of the deal, NFL fans will be given the chance to order Ford tailgate packages on demand through transportation network company Uber. The packages will include food, game tickets and merchandise.
Ford will also launch the countrywide ‘Built Ford Tough Tailgate Tour’ initiative, giving supporters access to tickets and game day tailgate experiences. Various other ticket giveaways will be launched.
In addition, Ford will take on naming rights to the new ‘Offensive Line of the Week’ award, which will be given to the team’s defensive line that “best exhibits toughness, smarts and capability” each weekend.
At the conclusion of the season, one line will be recognised as Built Ford Tough Offensive Line of the Year at the annual NFL honours awards presentation.
