Tyre manufacturer Bridgestone has teamed up with the NFL American football league in North America to support NFL Play 60, an educational initiative designed to motivate schoolchildren to be active for 60 minutes per day.
Bridgestone and NFL Play 60 will hold a ‘Fuel the Drive’ contest, which will encourage US schools to put themselves forward for the chance of winning a $25,000 (€22,500) grant to help fund athletics schemes at their school.
Entrants will be required to submit a 250-word essay outlining why their school deserves to be awarded the grant before October 12, with the winner decided by a public vote before the end of this year.
“NFL Play 60’s initiative to reduce childhood obesity aligns with our ongoing efforts as the world’s largest tyre and rubber company to make a lasting impact in the communities where we operate,” said Amber Holm, director of advertising, promotions and retail branding at Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations.
