NBA tips off Acer partnership in Philippines

Taiwanese electronics company Acer has entered into a promotional partnership with North American basketball league the NBA in the Philippines.

Under the agreement, the terms of which were undisclosed, Acer will be integrated into NBA media and events in the Southeast Asian country, including NBA TV and NBA.com Philippines.

Acer will also benefit from a presence at NBA 3X Philippines 2014, the league's 3×3 basketball series, and the company will launch retail promotions to engage with NBA fans. Until June 30, qualifying NBA fans and consumers will be entitled to a free NBA laptop backpack when they buy an Acer laptop.

Carlo Singson, NBA country manager for the Philippines, said: “NBA fans in the Philippines will enjoy an unmatched experience watching NBA games on League Pass, accessing NBA.com Philippines and playing the latest NBA video games on Acer's world-class devices.”

The Acer deal is the NBA’s latest partnership in the region. In March it announced a multi-year marketing partnership with European dairy company Royal FrieslandCampina covering Southeast Asia.
