NBA gets its teeth into Shock Doctor partnership

Sports protection and performance brand Shock Doctor has entered into a partnership with North American basketball league the NBA.

The multi-year deal names Shock Doctor the official mouthguard of the NBA, the Women’s National Basketball Association, the NBA Development League and the USA Basketball national governing body.

Shock Doctor will engage in NBA and USA Basketball youth initiatives to educate players on the importance of using mouthguards whilst on the court. The brand will also develop bespoke league and team mouthguards as part of the deal.

“We place great importance across all our brands on providing the best on-court protection so basketball players of all levels can stay healthy and stay in the game,” Tony Armand, chief executive of United Sports Brands, Shock Doctor’s parent company, said.

“Our partnership with the NBA allows us to continue to speak to our key audience – passionate and devoted athletes who know they need the best protective equipment to stay safe on the court.”

Shock Doctor holds endorsement contracts with NBA players including the Cleveland Cavaliers’ Kevin Love (left of picture) and Golden State Warriors’ Harrison Barnes (right of picture), both of whom are currently competing against each other in the NBA Finals.
