Indian tyre manufacturer MRF Tyres has reached a sponsorship agreement with the International Cricket Council covering its 2015 World Cup.
MRF Tyres has an established presence cricket as the naming sponsor of the MRF Pace Foundation – an institution dedicated to developing fast bowling skills across cricket’s Test playing countries.
The financial terms of the agreement, under which MRF becomes a global partner for the World Cup, were not disclosed.
ICC chairman Narayanaswami Srinivasan said: “MRF is an active promoter of sport and by deciding to be associated with the ICC in challenging economic times, it has shown its faith and support in the ICC as well as its flagship event.”
The 2015 World Cup runs from February 14 to March 29 in Australia and New Zealand.
