French motor oils and industrial lubricants producer Motul has been named an official partner of the Endurance World Championship motorcycling series.
Motul has agreed a three-year deal with the championship, which is organised by the International Motorcycling Federation (FIM). Financial terms of the agreement, which will conclude after the 2018 season, were not disclosed.
The company struck the deal with Eurosport Events, the EWC’s promoter. Motul was the official lubricants partner for the EWC in 2015.
As part of its new deal, Motul will receive trackside advertising exposure on race days and will also be promoted during international sports broadcaster Eurosport’s television coverage of the championship. In addition, Motul will have access to Eurosport Events’ image bank, which it will be permitted to use to create digital content.
Motul has a strong presence in the professional motorcycling market and is currently the title sponsor of the World Superbike Championship. It also sponsors the MotoGP series and is a long-time partner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans motorcycling event.
Hélène Zaugg, Motul’s head of communication and motorsport, said: “We are very happy to continue this partnership with Eurosport Events which was set-up with the FIM since 2012. Along with MotoGP, WSBK and Tourist Trophy, FIM Endurance World Championship constitutes one of our four pillars of motorsport competition. It is also a formidable testing ground which allows us to highlight the performance of the Motul Factory Line range dedicated to competition, and particularly the famous 300V.”
