North America’s Major League Baseball (MLB) has entered into a partnership with the Sheraton hotel chain.
Under the deal, the length of which was not disclosed, Sheraton will become the official hotel of MLB.
As part of the agreement, Sheraton will be able to offer its guests access to MLB.TV, the league’s online streaming platform, and MLB Network, the cable-television channel dedicated to the sport. Customised booking widgets will also greet guests whom order their tickets through MLB’s official website.
Members of Sheraton’s SPG (Starwood Preferred Guest) loyalty initiative will also benefit from the deal. SPG has been named the official hotel loyalty program of MLB. Any of Sheraton’s elite SPG members will be afforded the same privileges as Sheraton’s guests.
In addition, once-in-a-lifetime experiences will be offered to Sheraton guests and SPG members throughout the 2016 MLB season.
Noah Garden, executive vice-president of business at MLB, said: “This new partnership will provide MLB content and unique experiences to Sheraton guests and SPG members, offering baseball fans an attractive benefit when making a hotel choice.”
