NFL American football franchise the Miami Dolphins has entered into a partnership with transportation company Uber.
The one-year deal will cover the upcoming 2016 season and names Uber as the preferred ride-sharing partner of the Dolphins.
As part of the agreement, Uber will offer a drop-off and pick-up service for Dolphins fans throughout the season.
A dedicated zone will be set up at the Dolphins’ newly-named Hard Rock Stadium home ground that will allow fans to arrive at and leave games in an efficient manner.
Twenty designated Uber Tailgate spots will also be set up around the ground. Uber Tailgate will give fans the chance to purchase a tailgate experience that also includes a grill, charcoal, table, chairs and a tent. Supporters will have until the Thursday before each home game to book the package.
“We recognise that getting in and out of the stadium and traffic is one of the challenges we have with fans as we continue to compete with 60-inch high-definition televisions,” Dolphins president and chief executive Tom Garfinkel said. “We are excited to partner with Uber in this innovative way and want to change our fans’ experiences of getting to and from these events while reimagining the tailgate experience.”
