Australian A-League football club Melbourne City has signed a kit sponsorship deal with fast-food restaurant chain McDonald’s.
The three-year deal covers the 2017-18 to 2019-20 seasons. The McDonald’s logo will feature on the team’s home and away shorts during the 2017-18 campaign as part of the agreement.
McDonald’s will also serve as the official restaurant partner and official coffee partner of Melbourne City, and as the presenting partner of the City Cup 2018 tournament, a local junior football event run by the club.
Melbourne City chief executive Scott Munn said: “In partnering with our City Cup tournament, McDonald’s have made clear their long-term commitment to the development of junior football participation in Victoria. The City Cup tournament has grown from 24 teams to over 150 teams in just three years, an indication of the continuing growth of the game.”
