Global payment services company Mastercard has agreed a sponsorship deal for the Australian Open grand slam tournament as part of a wide-ranging partnership with the Tennis Australia governing body that also includes naming rights to the Hopman Cup event.
The 2017 edition of the Hopman Cup national team tournament, which takes place from January 1-7 at the Perth Arena, will officially be titled the Mastercard Hopman Cup.
Mastercard has also been named as the official payment partner of the Australian Open, the 2017 edition of which will take place in Melbourne from January 16-29.
In addition, Mastercard will serve as an official partner of the Australian Open Series tournaments in Sydney, Hobart and Adelaide, while it will also be involved in various Australian Open lead-up events, including launch activities in Tokyo, Shanghai and Singapore.

Mastercard also serves as the official payment card of the French Open grand slam. Terms of the Tennis Australia deal were not disclosed.
