English Premier League football club Manchester United has entered into a global partnership with transportation network company Uber.
The length of the agreement was not disclosed but the deal will at least cover the remainder of the 2016-17 season.
Under the agreement, a dedicated Uber pick-up and drop-off zone will be set up at United’s Old Trafford stadium in a move the club hopes will enhance fans’ match-day experience.
In the coming months, Uber will also connect fans in over 30 countries to the club through a range of experiences, interactive campaigns and behind-the-scenes content.
Manchester United group managing director, Richard Arnold, said: “Supporters will tell you that the journey to and from a game, whether they are watching it at Old Trafford or another venue on the other side of the world, is an important part of the matchday experience, contributing to the build-up and anticipation of the day.
“Working with Uber we will look to enhance this experience for our 659 million followers, both home and abroad, by bringing them the spirit of Old Trafford and Manchester United through various experiences and interactive campaigns.”
