UK mineral water brand Buxton has announced a new partnership that makes it the official water of the London Marathon.
The deal, which was brokered by the brandRapport agency, allows the London Marathon to extend its 15-year relationship with Nestle Waters but moves the sponsorship to the multi-national food and drinks conglomerate’s flagship British brand.
Nestle’s Pure Life water was the previous supplier to the race.
At the 2014 London Marathon, 750,000 bottles of Buxton Water will be distributed to runners at branded water stations along the course.
Buxton will also benefit from a comprehensive range of commercial rights and assets, including extensive course branding, programme advertising, hospitality, promotional space at the London Marathon Exhibition and a number of places in the race.
Britain’s double Olympic and world 5,000 and 10,000 metres champion Mo Farah is poised to make his marathon debut at the 2014 London Marathon, taking on a strong international field.
