UK recycling company Powerday has agreed a two-year sponsorship deal with London Irish to continue as the English Premiership rugby union team’s principal sponsor until the end of the 2015-16 season.
Under the agreement, Powerday’s logo will feature on the front of the playing kit for London Irish’s first-team and academy sides.
Coaching staff clothing and replica wear will also bear Powerday’s branding, while the company will benefit from branding and hospitality rights at the Madejski Stadium in Reading and London Irish’s Hazelwood training ground.
The deal extends Powerday’s long-term association with London Irish, where it has backed the club’s academy setup for the past 10 years. It will continue this sponsorship under the new terms, the financial details of which were not disclosed.
Mick Crossan, chairman of Powerday and president of London Irish, led a consortium of London-based Irish businessmen in acquiring a majority share of the club in December.
