Polish currency exchange company Cinkciarz.pl has agreed a deal to sponsor this summer’s Uefa European Under-21 Championship national team football tournament, which will take place in its home country.
Cinkciarz.pl will serve as the only Poland-based global partner of the event, which will be held in six cities across the country from June 16-30.
Piotr Kiciński, vice-chairman of the Cinkciarz.pl board, said the company would prepare an “extensive activation to engage with fans” during the tournament in a bid to promote its international brand, Conotoxia.
Guy-Laurent Epstein, Uefa Events marketing director, added: “As a successful Polish company with global ambitions, we're sure the partnership can help grow their business while simultaneously helping to promote the competition. This demonstrates the strength of the newly expanded tournament and we look forward to working with them.”
The company joins brands such as Coca-Cola, McDonald’s and Adidas as global sponsors of the tournament.
Twelve teams – up from the previous eight – will compete at this year’s expanded event. Sweden is the defending champion having won the 2015 event in the Czech Republic.
