Real Sociedad brings in Chinese firm as main partner

Spanish Liga football team Real Sociedad has reached an agreement for Chinese mobile and internet technology company Qbao.com to become its main sponsor for the 2014-15 season.

Qbao.com’s branding will feature on the front of Sociedad’s shirts for the first time during Tuesday’s friendly match against English Premier League club Chelsea.

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed but there is an option to extend beyond the initial year.

Sociedad added that the agreement includes the possibility for the club to help develop players from Nanjing Qianbao, the Chinese club owned by its new main sponsor.

Last month, Real Sociedad agreed a kit supplier deal with sportswear giant Adidas.
