English Premier League football team Liverpool has signed a two-year extension to its regional partnership with IT, electronics and furniture retailer Courts Asia.
Liverpool initially partnered with Courts in the Singapore and Malaysian markets in 2008 and the renewed terms run through until the end of the 2015-16 Premier League season, building on an extensive multi-platform marketing drive in the region.
Fans will have the chance to win VIP tickets to Liverpool games through Courts, which will also look to develop players at grassroots level through the Courts and Liverpool Football Academy.
From later this year, youngsters will be trained by academy-certified coaches and a former Liverpool star at the facility.
Liverpool’s chief commercial officer Billy Hogan said: “This is the longest regional partnership of its kind, so it’s fantastic to be able to announce this extension. As a club, we have over nine million followers across Singapore and Malaysia and by partnering with one of the biggest retailers in these markets, we’re able to work together to bring fans closer to their club.”
