Spanish electric utility company Endesa has agreed a two-year extension to its title sponsorship of the Liga ACB, the top division of Spanish basketball.
Endesa first partnered with Liga ACB in 2011 and the new agreement runs until the end of the 2016-17 season. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The deal consolidates Endesa’s basketball presence in its home country. It also sponsors Spain’s men’s and women’s national teams and will partner the International Basketball Federation’s (Fiba) World Cup when its 2014 edition is hosted in the country from August 30 to September 14.
FC Barcelona is the reigning Liga ACB champion having defeated Real Madrid 3-1 in the 2013-14 finals series.
