Lexus, the luxury car division of Japanese automotive manufacturer Toyota, has signed a two-year deal to become the official vehicle of the USA Pro Challenge through the 2015 edition of the annual cycling race.
Under the agreement, the financial terms of which were not disclosed, Lexus will provide the overall race winner with a three-year lease for one of its CT200h hybrid models.
Lexus will also be the presenting partner of the sprint jersey during the event, which runs from Apsen to Denver through the Colorado Rockies, along with the stage six individual time trial in Vail.
The 2014 edition of the USA Pro Challenge takes place from August 18-24 and Lexus will provide 125 vehicles for the caravan. Additionally, Lexus will run the Finish Festival, an interactive event free to the public that will be located at the finish of each stage.
Shawn Hunter, chief executive of the Pro Challenge, said: “The company’s activations at the Pro Challenge this year far exceed anything we have seen in the past, with engaging elements for fans and even something for the riders. Lexus will be a key part of the race for the next two years and hopefully for many more to come.”
