Polish Ekstraklasa football club Legia Warsaw has extended its shirt sponsorship deal with the Fortuna betting group.
The new deal will run for three years, from 2017 to 2020. Fortuna’s branding will continue to feature on the front of Legia’s playing jerseys as part of the agreement.
Fortuna will also receive brand exposure at Legia’s home stadium on match days, and in newsletters and promotions from the club. Fan promotions will also be organised between the two parties, which first partnered in 2014.
“The last three years has been a period of great success for Legia, and for Fortuna it has been a time where we have positioned ourselves at the top of the Polish betting market,” Leszek Haba, head of marketing at Fortuna, said. “Without the help of Legia, we would not have been able to attain this. The extension of our contracts shows that both sides aspire to progress further.”
Legia vice-president Jakub Szumielewicz added: “Fortuna supports Polish football despite the fact that our country’s laws regarding betting and the promoting of it could be better. We should appreciate the continual interest from the company in their sponsoring of Polish sports, since it helps us to realise our dreams of fighting with the leading football clubs in Europe. Without the help from our main sponsor it would not be possible.”
